The Regional Lifesaving Championships 2026 are taking place on 19th of July at Ipswich High School, Woolverstone, Ipswich from 10 am - 1 pm

​

Here are the categories:

Championships and heats shall be held in the following categories:

  • 12 – 14  Junior Girls Pairs

  • 12 – 14 Junior Open Pairs

  • 15 – 17 Senior Girls Pairs

  • 15 – 17 Senior Open Pairs

  • 18 - 21 Adult Ladies Pairs

  • 18 - 21 Adult Open Pairs

  • Ladies Individual (16+)

  • Open Individual (16+)

  • Masters Ladies (Age Groups: 30-39 years; 40-49 years; 50-59 years; 60-69 years; 70+)

  • Masters Men's (Age Groups: 30-39 years; 40-49 years; 50-59 years; 60 - 69; 70+)

The competition will consist of:

  • Aquatic initiative test

  • Life-support initiative test

  • Line throw

  • Swim and tow (non-contact)

Closing date for applications is the 25th of June!

Regional Lifesaving Championships

Ipswich Lifesaving Club took part in the National Speed Lifesaving Championships for this first time this year (March 2026). The club sent four competitors to compete against the best in the country in Birminham at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre.

​

There are various events competitors can choose from in these championships. Our team chose to compete in the 100/50m manikin carry with fins, 50m manikin carry, 100/50m manikin tow, 10m line throw, and 100m obstacle race.

​

We are pleased to announce that the team came back with 2 gold medals and a silver medal - a testiment to their determination and commitment. We look forward to training hard for the next championships on the 13th and 14th of March 2027.

15 - 17 girls:

  • Jasmine and Evlyn - 7th place

  • Eddie and Alex - 3rd place

Individual ladies:

  • Nuala 9th place

Ladies Masters:

  • Ali - 5th place

Open Masters:
